★Voca-lost★

I never really be sold on the idea of a computer generated singer. Vocaloids are very commonly known as the computer generated singers from Japan and have become widely popular. At first I thought they reminded me of some people using "auto tune" since auto tune is a computer generated program to help people sing better. I was kind of not part of the pool of  "vocaloids" until a conversation continued on  youtube under a Voca-girl named "Gumi".

Though what are the secrets behind Vocaloids? There is the fact that yes, humans are used to create Vocaloids voices but their voices are manipulated so much that no one in the world (supposibly) can't reach the notes that Vocaloids are given. So now, that I've done my research about the back story of Gumi, I can feel a bit more at ease about the whole "Robotic Singer" thing knowing that in the end, human voices are apart of this.

Don't get me wrong, it's an easy mistake, considering in an interview I saw, or I recall seeing, that they said they purely use "Sound waves". Though sound waves are a huge part in making music with or without a human voice I strictly thought they were using sound waves in general. No I was wrong. The voice provider for "Gumi" is none other than Megumi Nakajima.  "Gumi" was Megumi Nakajima's  childhood name.

I'd have to say though that what intrigued me the most about "Gumi" wasn't her glass shattering voice (and no, that isn't an insult)  but the lyrics to the song she'd covered from 2 other Vocaloids, Miki Feat Kaito. "iNSaNiTY"  is the song and though I find it more fitting for 1 person singing it because the lyrics  to me kind of make me think as if you're questioning your sanity or questioning who you really are.   Though I probably won't fully go obsessed with Vocaloid,  I have to give it to the lyricist of iNSaNiTY.  Definitely a song that fits my life.

English Lyrics:

The unneeded meaning of start and end
To the disappearance of this soul
Who remembers characters?
From the window of madness, goodbye

Hello, myself
Haven't we met before?
Goodbye, yourself
So, want to talk?

iNSaNiTY
Like floating on air
PSYCHoPaTHY
A carefree life
iNSaNiTY
An illusion that can't end
CaPTiViTY
Unable to run away
iNSaNiTY
Like floating on air
PSYCHoPaTHY
A carefree life
iNSaNiTY
An illusion that can't end
CaPTiViTY
Like the corruption is continuing

The discovered conclusion, disappearing
Outlines fading to black
In the darkness, there's no such thing thing as light
From the inside of madness, goodbye

Hello, myself
Haven't we met before?
Goodbye, yourself
So, want to talk?

iNSaNiTY
Like floating on air
PSYCHoPaTHY
A carefree life
iNSaNiTY
An illusion that can't end
CaPTiViTY
Unable to run away
iNSaNiTY
Like floating on air
PSYCHoPaTHY
A carefree life
iNSaNiTY
An illusion that can't end
CaPTiViTY
Like the corruption is continuing

Hey, haven't we met somewhere in the past?
Hey, you're special to me, I want to talk to you
Hey, what time is it? What's today? I don't know
Hey! It would be great if we completely forgot

iNSaNiTY
It's like floating on air
PSYCHoPaTHY
A carefree life
iNSaNiTY
Dark? Light?
iNSaNiTY
iNSaNiTY

sAnIty
Can't see the dark already
pUrIty
The days are longer
sAnIty
But that also must sink
"sAnIty"
... what is that?

iNSaNiTY
Like floating on air
PSYCHoPaTHY
A carefree life
iNSaNiTY
An illusion that can't end
CaPTiViTY
Unable to run away
iNSaNiTY
Like floating on air
PSYCHoPaTHY
A carefree life
iNSaNiTY
An illusion that can't end
CaPTiViTY
The corruption is continuing
